Empowering Organizations for Success

Prosperity Grant Services is dedicated to empowering Connecticut municipalities and nonprofits by identifying and evaluating federal, state, local, and philanthropic funding opportunities. Our team collaborates with leadership to scope projects, establish goals, outcomes, eligible activities, target populations, and performance indicators. We develop program concepts using data, needs assessments, stakeholder input, and evidence-based strategies to ensure feasibility and competitiveness. With a focus on alignment with state and organizational priorities, we create logic models, implementation plans, timelines, staffing plans, and preliminary budgets.

Education

University of Connecticut

She earned her Master of Public Administration from the University of Connecticut, a program known for developing leaders skilled in public budgeting, policy analysis, program evaluation, and organizational management. As part of the program’s required experiential learning, she completed an internship with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), where she gained practical experience with state regulatory processes, environmental policy implementation, and interagency coordination. During this time, she also served as a Graduate Assistant for a political science professor, supporting research and academic analysis, which strengthened her writing, analytical abilities, and understanding of how policy is shaped through both scholarship and practice.

New York University

1994-1998

Tara completed her undergraduate work in Metropolitan Studies, a well-known interdisciplinary program focused on understanding how cities function—socially, economically, and politically. The program trains students to analyze urban issues through multiple lenses, strengthening skills in policy analysis, research, critical thinking, community development, and the study of how local governments shape daily life.

A meaningful part of my academic experience was my study abroad in Florence, Italy, where I immersed myself in the city’s language, culture, and urban history. Living and learning in Florence expanded my global perspective, deepened my appreciation for how different cities solve similar challenges, and strengthened my adaptability and cross-cultural communication skills.
